Congratulations to Kerry Banahan for being accepted to the 2019 Class of Leadership Missouri.
The Leadership Missouri program, put on by the Missouri Chamber, was created on the belief that the community, just as any business or organization, requires strong leadership to improve and grow. Founded in 1990, Leadership Missouri aims to identify current and emerging leaders throughout the state, enhance their leadership skills and deepen their knowledge of the state’s opportunities and challenges. Candidates for this program are selected primarily on the basis of their leadership experience and the desire to become a more effective leader. In April of this year, Kerry and the 2019 class will begin a series of seven monthly, two-day sessions.
Throughout these sessions, participants meet and interact with Missouri’s current leaders. Through panel discussions, presentation and experiences, they explore the state’s opportunities, needs and resources. Leadership Missouri provides a thought-provoking experience focusing on the attributes of the state, and what it means to be a leader. By visiting various regions, participants develop an enhanced view and a new meaning to the word community that spans the entire state.
Evans & Dixon associate, and Leadership Missouri class of 2018 graduate Alex Hurst spoke highly about his experience with the program this past year. “Leadership Missouri provided me with a phenomenal opportunity to get out of the legal-industry bubble and into an incredibly diverse group of leaders from virtually all industries and geographic regions of Missouri, which has paid dividends in terms of better understanding my clients’ industries and communities, the practical issues they face, and how it all fits in to the bigger picture of our state. Leadership comes in many forms, and the insights and relationships my classmates and I gained from the experience were nothing short of transformative.”
Evans & Dixon wishes Kerry the best of luck as she begins this rewarding and educational experience.
