Mr. Gallen has concentrated his practice in the defense of all types of workers’ compensation cases throughout Illinois for over 40 years.
Mr. Gallen has been a frequent lecturer on Workers' Compensation at both local and national seminars. In addition, he is a member of the Missouri Bar Association; Illinois State Bar Association; Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis; American Bar Association and the Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers and the St. Thomas More Society. He has held leadership positions in the ABA Workers’ Compensation Tort and Insurance Practice Section and Employee Law Committees. Some of Mr. Gallen’s past activities include service the Saint Louis University Law School Dean’s Advisory Council, Workers’ Compensation Committee Defense Research Institute, Illinois Self-Insurers Association, Legislative Committee, and The Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy Studies.
In addition, he is a member of the College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers and its Board of Governors, the Missouri Bar Association; Illinois State Bar Association; Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis; American Bar Association and the Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers and the St. Thomas More Society.
Interests:
Mr. Gallen enjoys spending time with his family, biking, swimming, genealogy and cheering at Billiken basketball games. An avid historian and reader, he has written numerous historical articles and book reviews for Amazon.com.
Mr. Gallen is very active in the community. Currently he serves as a lector/commentator for St. Gerard Majella Parish and is a member of the Missouri Athletic Club where he is chairman of the Military History Club.
Mr. Gallen was formerly served on the Board of St. Elizabeth Academy and was a member of the board and treasurer of the Ste. Genevieve Chapter of the French Heritage Society, and has been Assistant National Counselor of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War. In the past, he was served as Treasurer of the Catholic Alumni Club of Greater St. Louis, was a member of the Parents’ Advisory Board of the Archdiocese of St. Louis' Department of Special Education, was president and vice president of the Advisory Board of SSM Rehabilitation Institute and served on its Charter Campaign Leadership Committee and coached boys basketball and baseball for the Majella Club.
