Matt R. Leffler is a Member in the property subrogation practice group of Evans & Dixon where he specializes in fire and explosion litigation. In addition to his law license, Mr. Leffler is a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI) as certified by the National Association of Fire Investigators. Mr. Leffler has extensive experience throughout the country investigating and litigating catastrophic building fires, collapses, construction defects, product defects and flooding events. Mr. Leffler has tried cases to verdict throughout the country including Missouri state court, Illinois state court, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, Arkansas state court, Iowa state court and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Iowa.
Mr. Leffler is also a frequent presenter and lecturer throughout the country on various trends in the law including state specific subrogation issues, fire and explosion investigations and expert witness preparation. In 2018, Mr. Leffler was requested to present to the Missouri State Fire Marshal’s office on fire investigation, NFPA 921 and expert witness requirements. Mr. Leffler has been published in the Claims Management Magazine and numerous times in the Subrogator Magazine.
Mr. Leffler graduated cum laude from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law. He received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.
