Shawn Briner handles real estate, business, and contract disputes for individuals and companies. He has litigated cases throughout Missouri, Illinois, and Kansas’ trial courts, and he has argued before all three of Missouri’s Courts of Appeals and Missouri’s Supreme Court.
Real estate has always been one of Shawn’s focuses, and he possesses a broad knowledge base. Early in his career, Shawn founded a title insurance agency for a client and managed its day-to-day operations. This opportunity gave Shawn an inside perspective of the real estate industry and left him better prepared to investigate, understand, and analyze the complex fact patterns that often exist in real estate disputes. Shawn’s knowledge of real estate matters is such that for more than twenty years, title insurance companies have hired him to represent their insured owners and insured lenders when real estate disputes arise. Shawn continues to represent insured and uninsured individuals and companies in a wide variety of real estate disputes.
Shawn also represents clients facing business and contract disputes. His clients have included individuals, companies, business owners, banks, mortgage companies, mortgage servicers, and debt buyers. In 2024, one of those disputes made its way to Missouri’s Supreme Court, where Shawn successfully argued on his client’s behalf.
Shawn is a lifelong Missourian, having grown up in Kansas City, attended college and law school in Columbia, and resided in St. Louis since 2000. He is a 1991 graduate of Blue Springs High School; a 1995 graduate of the University of Missouri’s School of Communication, where he focused on speech theory and performance; and a 1998 graduate of the University of Missouri’s School of Law, where he was a Cedric E. Seigfried scholar. Shawn and his wife, Jenny, have three children and reside in St. Charles County.
